3rd ANNUAL BONAIRE BARRACUDA OPEN WATER SWIM 

The Bonaireaanse Aquatics Club "Barracuda's" cordially invites you to participate in the 3^rd Annual Bonaire Barracuda Open Water Swim to be held in Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles on Sunday, 13 June 2010.

Date: Sunday, 13 June 2010  
Venue: 2.5 Km Circuit course parallel to the shore in the Bay of Kralendijk starting and finishing in front of the Kas di Regatta on Kaya Playa Lechi just north of downtown Kralendijk. The course is marked by buoys and mooring lines. Spectators can view the length of the course walking along the seaside Promenade.  
Distances: 5 Km, 2.5 Km, 1.5 Km and 500 meters measured by GPS

Safety: Swimmer safety is our primary concern. The course is patrolled by rescue boat(s) with dive team, zodiacs and kayaks. Individual support vessels are not allowed. The event(s) may be postponed or cancelled if environmental conditions on the day of the competition are deemed unsafe by the Organizing Committee and Referee.

Age: Swimmers age on the date of the event  

Eligibility: Swimmers need not be affiliated with a club or swimming federation. The swimmer's medical history, physical condition and training must be commensurate with the rigors of open water swimming competition.  

Format: Timed Final. The 5 and 2.5 Km events will be swum simultaneously. Swimmers 11 and over may participate in a maximum of two (2) events excluding the events swum simultaneously. Swimmer will not be permitted to use or wear any device which may be an aid to their speed, endurance or buoyancy. Specifically, snorkels, fins and wetsuits are not allowed. Goggles, a maximum of two (2) caps, nose clip and earplugs may be used.

Entry Fee: US$ 25.00 Please note there will be no refunds or substitutions under any Circumstances as this is a charitable event. Proceeds benefit the Bonaireaanse Aquatics Club "Floating Pier/Sea Pool" Project.  

Entry Deadline: 31 May 2010  

Check-In: Swimmers should check in at least one hour prior to the start of their event for number marking and pre-event briefing. Participants who do not attend the pre-event briefing will not be allowed to swim.
